Creating MX Record Guide

1. Introduction:

Sometimes customers use VinaHost domain but use mail server in another server or the use of Google Apps email service instead of using domain name, mail hosting and servers in the same convenient place. To do this, customers need to declare one MX record to determine processing server email.

2. How to report:

      2.1 For Vietnam domain name:

Access to link: Asian. Access https://secure.vinahost.vn/ac/index.php address to login to the customer center of VinaHost.

b. In the left menu, in the Manage Account tab, select the section “information domain”

c. Select the domain name you want to manipulate, then click “Manage Domain” button on the side.

d. Select the tab Management Tools => MX record Management.

Next you need to fill in the boxes as shown below:

Priority: Priority for the processing of mail, we will give priority to process the records with low numbers

Destination: The address of the server that will handle mail, this address required to be a name (not IP) and this address name is record A.

For example, in the screenshot above. When a mail is sent to @ yourdomain.vn,  your mail server (yourdomain.vn) will be processed first. If the Mail server is a problem, the system will automatically switch to lower priority record in google's mail server (ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM)

     2.2 For international domain name:

The steps are the same Vietnam domain. However, with  step D, you select the tab Management Tools => DNS Management

Now please fill in the following information:

Server name: @

Address: The address of the server that will handle mail, this address required to be a name (not IP) and this address name is record A.

Priority: Priority for the processing of mail, we will give priority to process the records with low numbers

Type: MX (Mail)

 

Priority: Priority mail processing, lower the number, the record will take precedence.

Similarly, for the domain Vietnam.

So you have to declare complete MX record. You can refer to the domain name pointing and other records (A, TXT, CNAME, ..) for the names of Vietnam here or international domain name here.
